#3: Monitoring Student Progress

Use the three levels of detail in the dashboard to monitor student practice progress and objective mastery. Covers tracking comprehension quiz results, books read, usage time within a custom time frame, and detailed activity history.

Check Practice Progress

Go to Weekly Checklist → Step 3 → Reading → Students → Progress

  • Each student shows their score and level (e.g. 428 Level D)

  • Click on a student's score to drill into their objective-by-objective mastery detail

Check Students' Practice Progress Towards Skills Mastery

Go to Weekly Checklist → Step 3 → Reading → Students → Progress → Practice

  • A Reading comprehension quiz is given when the student gets to the end of a book under “My Tasks” with each question targeting a specific learning objective.

  • Each question is targeted at a skill or learning objective (e.g. D.RL.2.1 is about answering questions about key details)

    • ✅ = answered correctly

    • ❌ = answered incorrectly

  • The system looks for a trend across the most recent books and questions to determine whether the student has acquired each skill. Objectives may show as Needs Support, Incomplete, or Met Goal.

  • The system will automatically move students up a level once they demonstrate mastery by answering the quizzes correctly. You don't need to do this manually.

Check Summary Statistics for Completing Reading and Quizzes

Go to Weekly Checklist → Step 3 → Reading → Students → Usage

Usage shows detailed report per student in the last days, weeks, month or during a specific date (see Filter By)

The Usage table shows:

  • Fiction / Nonfiction level — current reading level by text type

  • Books Read — total books completed

  • Quizzes Completed — number of quizzes taken

  • Quiz Average — overall quiz score percentage

  • Lessons Watched — video lessons viewed

  • Activity Duration — total time spent on the platform

Check Full Activity History

Go to Weekly Checklist → Step 3 → Reading → Students → Activity History

  • Activity History shows complete details per student in the last days, weeks, month or specific dates (see Filter By Last 4 Weeks)

  • Each row shows the book, the learning objectives it covered, the release and due dates, book completion status, comprehension quiz scores, and fluency recording (if assigned).

  • If you want to listen to students' recording from practice, you can click on "View" to listen to their recordings.

  • Click "View" to see students' responses of certain book.
