Examine Growth Data

See Students Growth in Reading based on their Personal Goal

How Personal Growth is Measured (Using an Example)

  • The green line represents the expected growth of a student meeting benchmark from the beginning to the end of the year.

  • The empty circles represent the student's assessment scores. Most districts assess students 3 times a year.

  • The solid gray dots represent the student's frequent practice all through the school year.

  • Regardless of student's performance against benchmark, growth is reported based on the student's personal goal.

Maximize Your Students' Growth

Case 1: Low Growth + Little Practice

  • If you see only a few practice score dots (solid gray circles) between BOY and MOY, the student isn't practicing enough time on the platform.

  • What Teachers Need to Do: Make sure students have enough practice on My Tasks.

Case 2: Low Growth + Lots of Practice

  • If you see many practice score dots but scores still aren't rising, the student is putting in the time but not making progress.

  • What Teachers Need to Do: Meet with students who need extra support and teach mini lessons. They might need First Steps, Phonics and/or Reading.

Currently, the Growth Report reflects Reading: Literature and Reading: Informational. Growth reports for Phonics and First Steps are not available at this time.
