Mandarin Benchmarks and Standards Mapping

Level Learning analyzed end-of-year reading data to identify typical grade-level proficiency patterns across DLI programs. These benchmarks are a reference, not a limit; individual performance may vary.

Benchmark

Level Learning now serves over two-thirds of all Mandarin DLI programs across the United States. Most programs have been implementing Level Learning for multiple years, and the quality of implementation has continued to improve. Based on the data collected, these are the end-of-year reading level benchmarks.

Note: These benchmarks are a reference, not a limit. Students may perform above or below the benchmark based on their individual language development and program context.
